Event Time and Date
The fashion industry is the second most polluting industry globally, and is involved in massive human rights infractions worldwide. This event raises awareness about the fashion industry through an information booth, running documentaries, a sewing/alterations demonstration, and hosting a used clothing thrift shop to introduce students to alternative shopping. This is the second annual 'Exploitation is Never in Fashion' event run by the Global Development Studies Club. Last year, we raised $500 from the thrift store, all of which went to Maquila Solidarity Network, which fights for women's rights in garment factories.
